Narconon New Life Retreat Participates in Red Ribbon Week 2016

Narconon Staff Delivering Drug Education

Narconon New Life Retreat takes part in Red Ribbon week by donning red ribbons, delivering drug education lectures and passing out drug awareness booklets in the community.

The Red Ribbon Week is part of the Red Ribbon Campaign sponsored by the National Family Partnership as a way for people and communities to take a visible stand against drugs and commit to a drug free lifestyle. In 1980, concerned parents committed to taking action against the spread of drugs in society, formed the National Family Partnership (NFP).

Narconon New Life Retreat supports Red Ribbon week with staff wearing red ribbons throughout the week and they signed the Red Ribbon Week Pledge as a symbol of their commitment to be drug free. "Supporting drug education is central to the Narconon mission of fighting addiction, Red Ribbon Week is an awesome opportunity for all of us to remember that education and prevention is the best way to combat addiction," said Aaron Olson, staff member at Narconon New Life Retreat.

Narconon staff also delivered drug education lectures to over hundreds of students in order to forward Narconon’s “Be Drug Free. For Good” message.  The lectures include and question and answer period where schoolchildren can get information on the dangers of drug abuse and find out what to do if they are exposed to illegal drugs.  They were given The Truth About Drugs materials showing the dangers of alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, heroin, meth and synthetic drugs.

Narconon Louisiana was founded in 2006 following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in an effort to help the thousands of residents affected by addiction who had no available treatment facilities.  Located on approximately 15 wooded acres in Denham Springs, it is a non-profit alcohol and drug rehabilitation center licensed by the State of Louisiana.  The Narconon drug rehabilitation and education program was founded in 1966 by William Benitez and uses the drug-free rehabilitation and social education methodology based on research developed by American author and humanitarian, L. Ron Hubbard.  They are dedicated to eliminating alcohol and addiction through drug prevention education and rehabilitation.  If you know someone struggling with alcohol addiction or drug abuse and would like more information visit www.narcononnewliferetreat.org or call (877) 467-2641.  Any questions you have will be addressed in confidence.
